The MAN Behind the Camera
Hey, my name is Daniel T. Wratee
I’m a filmmaker and photographer from Chicago, Illinois, currently based in Los Angeles, California, with seven years of professional experience in media production.
I’m a 10-year U.S. Army veteran and studied Media and Communications at the University of Pittsburgh, where I worked as an intern photographer and camera operator for Pitt Athletics. During my military service, I worked as a Public Affairs Officer while continuing freelance photography and video work.
Since transitioning out of the Army in April 2025, I’ve worked full-time as a freelance filmmaker and photographer, focusing on portrait, documentary, and narrative-driven visual storytelling.
Outside of client work, I make independent film projects centered on identity, growth, and personal storytelling. Outside of creative work, I enjoy traveling, distance running, and training in mixed martial arts.
Keep Dreamin (2024)
A short story where I reflect on my ambitions, challenges and distractions.

The Difference - Episode One: VOS (2023)
Daniel chronicles his dating experiences as a modern bachelor and the ways that he's navigated through the challenges with the help of his two best friends. The three of these young men all approach dating in different ways but share a perspective on the potential for love.
Broke Boy Productions
My personal brand, production company, and clothing line built around the idea that creativity isn’t limited by resources. It’s about discipline, vision, and execution. I use it as a platform to create films, photography, and visual work that’s intentional, grounded, and story-driven.
The name represents the foundation of starting with nothing, figuring it out, and still producing at a high level. That mindset carries into everything I do, from portrait sessions to narrative projects to the clothing itself.
